About the Role
As a Dance Teacher, you will deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned programs that develop students’ technical, creative and performance capabilities, while contributing to a thriving performing arts environment. Working within a collaborative and high-performing Arts faculty, you will support a rich culture of performance and artistic exploration, helping students build confidence, discipline and a lifelong appreciation of dance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver high-quality dance programs aligned to the Australian Curriculum and SACE frameworks
- Develop students’ technique, choreography, composition and performance skills
- Teach a range of dance styles appropriate to varying ages and abilities
- Prepare students for performances, showcases, assemblies and community events
- Support senior secondary dance pathways, including SACE Stage 1 and Stage 2
- Contribute to co-curricular dance initiatives, productions and the broader arts program
About You
You are an enthusiastic and skilled dance educator who brings both technical expertise and creative energy to the classroom. You are committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment, and thrive in a collaborative school setting.
You will bring:
- Relevant teaching qualifications with Dance specialisation and current TRB SA registration
- Experience delivering dance programs across school or studio environments
- Strong technical ability across a range of dance styles, including choreography skills
- Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts – Dance, with SACE experience desirable
- Ability to design engaging lessons and provide meaningful feedback to support student growth
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills
- A commitment to safe dance practice and inclusive, student-centred learning
