Pembroke School is seeking an energetic, curious and future-focused Middle School and SACE Science Teacher to join our vibrant Science faculty for 2026. This is an exciting chance to teach in a collaborative, innovative and well-resourced Science environment where student engagement, hands-on learning and curiosity-driven exploration are at the heart of the program.

 

About the Role

You will inspire students in Years 7–12 by delivering engaging, challenging and conceptually rich Science learning experiences. Working within a supportive faculty, you will contribute to a dynamic curriculum that encourages inquiry, creativity and scientific thinking. Preference will be given to teachers with a strong background in Biology, as well as a general background in Science. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering curriculum-aligned lessons that engage students and foster scientific thinking
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress in line with school policies
  • Contributing to faculty planning, assessment design, and resource sharing
  • Participating in pastoral care and co-curricular activities as appropriate

 

About You

You are an enthusiastic and committed Science educator who brings energy, curiosity and a student-centred approach to the classroom, more specifically teaching Biology. You build strong relationships, communicate clearly and create learning experiences that spark interest, persistence and discovery. You are collaborative by nature and committed to refining your practice through reflection, feedback and professional learning.

You will bring:

  • A genuine passion for teaching Science in a Middle and Senior years.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect positively with young people.
  • An engaging, innovative and reflective teaching style that supports diverse learners.
  • Confidence using data and assessment to inform teaching practice.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to faculty planning and shared initiatives.
  • Readiness to participate in co-curricular activities and broader school life.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and teacher registration (or eligibility) in South Australia.
