Pembroke School is seeking enthusiastic and energetic support staff to join our casual register, supporting students on our camp programs. Joining the Pembroke Outdoor Education team means being part of something genuinely special. Our Outdoor Education program, run primarily from our Outdoor Education site in Finniss, is a truly unique experience for our students, teaching them essential life skills, as well as educating them of the land they live on. Our camp programs run from Years 7-12, with opportunities to assist in multiple camps per Term if required.

About the Role
You will join a diverse and enthusiastic team, all with a deep commitment to and passion for enriching the learning experiences of our students. This is a varied role, with learning objectives and student support at the forefront. You will:

  • Assist in the delivery of Outdoor Education camps
  • Assist with and demonstrate Outdoor Education activities
  • Assist with and supervise the use of outdoor cooking equipment
  • Assist with group management and keeping students on task
  • Respond to first aid situations if they should arise
  • Communicating issues pertaining to medical information, student welfare and performance

About You
You will bring:

  • A passion for the outdoors, with a commitment to fostering a love for outdoor education in students
  • Strong team building and collaborative skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with students, staff, and stakeholders
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve or escalate challenges in outdoor settings
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of our Outdoor Education program
  • Applicable qualifications (Wilderness First Aid, Boat licence, Climbing Certificate etc) are desirable
