As an All-Purpose Tradesperson, you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance, repair, and improvement works across our facilities, including minor metal fabrication, general repairs, renovations, upgrades, and small-scale building and grounds projects. Working collaboratively with the wider team, you will help ensure our buildings and outdoor spaces remain safe, functional, and well-presented while providing support across the department as needed. About the Role

The All-Purpose Tradesperson will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks within the Building and Grounds Department, including but not limited to minor metal fabrication, general repairs, and maintenance related to renovations, upgrades, and small-scale building or grounds projects. They will also be expected to provide support to other members of the department as required.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across school properties, grounds, boarding, and residential properties.
  • Undertaking minor renovations and small-scale construction projects, including classrooms, offices, and other facilities.
  • Performing furniture repairs, fabrication, and small-scale manufacturing as needed.
  • Carrying out specialist metal fabrication tasks and repairs.
  • Identifying, remediating, or reporting maintenance issues encountered during daily duties.
  • Assisting with the setup of school functions, meetings, and classroom arrangements.
  • Supporting and relieving other members of the Building and Grounds Department as required.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, the successful applicant will be a practical and adaptable tradesperson with sound knowledge of general maintenance, repairs, and minor renovation works, and the ability to confidently undertake a variety of building and grounds tasks..
