About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Head of Boarding provides leadership across two boarding houses and plays a vital role in shaping the experience of students living away from home. This role is supported by an Assistant Head of Boarding and a cohort of Boarding House Supervisors and Boarding House Assistants.
This is a highly visible leadership position responsible for:
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the Boarding community
- Fostering a positive, safe and inclusive culture where every boarder feels connected
- Leading and developing a dedicated Boarding Team
- Building strong partnerships with families and the wider School community
- Supporting the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of boarders
- Contributing strategically as a member of the Pembroke Leadership Team
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
- Experience leading a boarding program or significant pastoral wellbeing function
- Outstanding leadership and people management skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and operational capability
- A well-developed ability to connect with and engage current, past and prospective boarders across local, national and international events
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to work across all areas of the School
This role is suitable for boarding leaders from teaching or non-teaching backgrounds.
