Pembroke School is seeking two passionate and creative Drama Teachers to join our vibrant Arts faculty. Working across the Middle and Senior School, these positions offer an exciting opportunity to inspire students through the study and practice of Drama within the Australian Curriculum, SACE and IB frameworks.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

About the Role

Our Drama program fosters creativity, confidence, and collaboration, providing students with opportunities to explore performance, production, and theatre-making in a dynamic and supportive environment. The Drama Teachers will deliver engaging and challenging learning experiences that develop students’ understanding of performance and storytelling while nurturing imagination, critical thinking, and self-expression.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and delivering innovative Drama programs across Years 7–12.
  • Inspiring students to explore drama and theatre through practice, context, design and technical production.
  • Facilitating curricular productions, showcases, and performances.
  • Creating inclusive classroom environments that encourage artistic risk-taking and collaboration.
  • Working within the Australian Curriculum, SACE and IB frameworks to deliver rigorous learning outcomes.
  • Contributing to the co-curricular life of the School through associated clubs, performances and events.


About You

You are an engaging educator who believes in the transformative power of Drama to inspire creativity and connection. You take pride in fostering student confidence, encouraging collaboration, and sharing a passion for the performing arts. You value teamwork, reflection, and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education with a specialisation in Drama, Theatre or Performing Arts.
  • Knowledge and experience teaching within the Australian Curriculum, SACE and/or IB frameworks.
  • A student-centred approach and the ability to differentiate for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Experience in directing, producing, or supporting school performances.
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset, with a commitment to professional growth.
