Pembroke School is seeking supervisors to fill multiple vacancies within our Boarding Houses. We are committed to the holistic development of our students, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional well-being. Our boarding house offers a home away from home for students, providing a safe and caring community. Successful applicants will also be appointed as a Casual Boarding House Assistant to ensure an appropriate pool of support is maintained.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Boarding and working closely with the Assistant Head of Boarding, this key position will be responsible for overseeing the welfare and supervision of boarding students during after-hours and/or overnight shifts. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our students outside regular school hours.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor students' activities after hours and overnight, ensuring their safety and adherence to boarding house rules.
- Conduct regular safety checks throughout the boarding house to maintain a secure environment for all students.
- Assist in overseeing the safety, health, care and development of boarders.
- Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, helping them cope with any personal or academic challenges they may face.
- Organise and supervise evening and weekend activities to engage students and promote a positive boarding house community.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and school staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
About You
You are a caring and responsible individual who thrives in a community environment, demonstrating empathy, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing. Confident and approachable, you build positive relationships and respond calmly to situations that require care and professionalism.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or pastoral care role, preferably in a boarding school or residential setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work after-hours and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- A caring and empathetic approach to working with young people.
