Pembroke School is seeking a passionate and skilled Physics Teacher to join our dynamic and collaborative Science Faculty. Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

About the Role

The Physics Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging learning experiences that ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine love of science among students. The successful applicant will teach Physics across SACE and/or the IB, designing lessons that stretch understanding and encourage students to explore the world through scientific inquiry.

They will foster an environment where intellectual curiosity is celebrated, and students are supported to think independently, collaborate meaningfully, and apply scientific principles to real-world contexts.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach Physics to senior students within SACE and/or IB frameworks.
  • Develop high-quality learning programs that challenge and inspire.
  • Support student success through effective assessment and feedback practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum design and teaching strategies.
  • Incorporate technology and inquiry-based approaches to deepen learning.
  • Participate in the broader life of the School through co-curricular and pastoral contributions.

Note to applicants: Whilst this role has a primary focus on Physics, the successful applicant will also teach in additional subject areas. Please specify in your application all subjects you are qualified to teach.


About You

You are an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics educator with a genuine passion for science and learning. You bring creativity, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit to your teaching and are committed to empowering every student to achieve their best.

You will bring:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Education and Physics (or related discipline).
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
  • Experience in teaching Physics within SACE and/or IB frameworks.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary teaching methodologies and assessment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • A reflective, growth-oriented approach to professional learning.
