Pembroke School invites caring, professional and collaborative ELC Co-Educators to join our Casual Register, supporting our vibrant Early Learning Centre community as needs arise.

Our ELC is a nurturing, play-based environment where curiosity is encouraged, relationships are valued, and every child is supported to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually. As an ELC Co-Educator, you will work alongside teaching staff to provide a safe, high-quality learning environment that promotes each child’s development and wellbeing.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The School employs over 300 permanent and fixed-term staff plus more than 150 casual employees.

About the Role

ELC Co-Educators engaged through the Casual Register may be required to:

  • Work collaboratively within the ELC team to support high-quality educational programs
  • Assist in documenting children’s learning and development
  • Create and maintain safe, engaging and stimulating indoor and outdoor environments
  • Supervise and actively support children during ELC activities and specialist lessons
  • Contribute to children’s pastoral care, wellbeing and daily routines
  • Maintain strong communication with colleagues and families while adhering to all School policies and regulatory requirements

This role also includes supporting children with personal care, contributing to a clean and safe environment, and administering first aid where required.


About You

We are seeking individuals who are warm, dependable and passionate about Early Childhood education. You will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional care, reliability and flexibility, with integrity in all responsibilities
  • A strong commitment to delivering positive, high-quality outcomes for young learners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, families and colleagues
  • A deep understanding of children’s developmental, social and emotional needs
  • Strong organisational and time management skills in dynamic environments
  • Professionalism, discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters
  • Confidence using technology to support learning experiences

You will also hold:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (meeting National Quality Standard requirements) or an equivalent ACECQA-recognised qualification
  • Previous experience in an Early Childhood setting (highly regarded)
