Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Pembroke is a vibrant and exciting School catering for a diverse community of students. About the Role

As an ELC Co-Educator, you will play a meaningful role in shaping young children’s early learning experiences within a warm, inclusive and well-resourced environment. Working alongside dedicated teaching staff, you will support the delivery of engaging educational programs that foster curiosity, independence and social development.

You will contribute to the creation of dynamic indoor and outdoor learning spaces that encourage exploration and play-based discovery. Through thoughtful observation and documentation, you will help track and celebrate each child’s growth, ensuring learning experiences are responsive and developmentally appropriate.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting daily routines that promote wellbeing, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Encouraging children’s participation in specialist lessons and structured learning activities.
  • Contributing to a calm, organised and safe learning environment.
  • Building strong partnerships with families through open and respectful communication.
  • Upholding regulatory, safety and wellbeing standards with professionalism and care.


About You

You are a warm, attentive and proactive early childhood professional who understands the profound impact of a child’s first learning experiences. You bring genuine care, professionalism and enthusiasm to your work, and you thrive in environments where collaboration, reflection and continuous improvement are valued.

You will demonstrate:

  • A genuine passion for Early Childhood education and child development.
  • The ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with young children and their families.
  • A collaborative mindset, working effectively within a team while taking initiative when needed.
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional manner.
  • Confidence in supporting children’s social, emotional and developmental growth.
  • Excellent organisation and time management in a dynamic, school-based environment.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, safety and child wellbeing.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-recognised equivalent).
